Induction Ceremony Fall 2008 Invitation

(-Registration Form)

Dear Phi Theta Kappa Applicant,

First of all, we want to congratulate you on becoming a part of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. To achieve this, you have shown hard work in academic process and leadership involvement. These traits will help you go far.  We want to recognize your entry to our honor society to make it special and unforgettable; you are, as the Phi Theta Kappa saying goes, “good as gold.”

You are invited to the Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony at Inver Hills Community College – Alpha Omicron Beta Chapter. Please mark it on your calendar.

The Induction Ceremony will be held on Monday, November 3rd, 2008 from

5:00 pm to 6:15 pm in Heritage Hall Building room HH 203.

The ceremony is a semi-formal event to which you may also invite your family and friends.  Phi Theta Kappa, into which you will be inducted, is the largest honor society in the United States. At Inver Hills College, we have about 200 members, and we are very pleased to welcome you.

At the Induction Ceremony, our College President, Dr. Cheryl Frank, will begin by warmly welcoming everyone.  Dr. Frank is one of the strongest supporters of Phi Theta Kappa among college presidents in the entire four-state region. Our two academic Vice Presidents—Provost Dr. Joan Costello  and Dr. Barbara Read—also will offer welcomes. Then we will have our formal ceremony and oath of membership.  After the oath, Co-Advisor and English faculty member Richard Jewell will speak briefly.  The ceremony will be followed by a dessert reception in the Heritage Hall lobby.

IMPORTANT: please register for the Induction Ceremony so we can have your certificate ready. Click on this link -Registration Form. (You are welcome to come in if not yet register but we cannot promise to have the certificate ready)

We again congratulate you on your significant achievement in gaining the scholarly standing to apply to Phi Theta Kappa.  Once your Phi Theta Kappa notation is on your transcript, people who see it will always know you are intelligent.  We hope that, by your actions, others will learn you have a probing mind and a caring, humane respect for others.

 Yours sincerely,

Richard Jewell – Advisor (richard@jewell.net)

Together with our officer team and advisors
